Role: Commissioning Technician Contract/Staff: 12-month Contract Location: Sellafield IR35: Inside

Our client has a requirement for a Commissioning Technician who will be responsible for carrying out testing activities and contributing to the commissioning process on a 12-month contract basis in Sellafield. This position falls within IR35 regulations.

Role Purpose: The Commissioning Technician will work under the guidance of the Commissioning Engineer and will be responsible for ensuring safety as the highest priority throughout the project. They will actively contribute to the testing activities, production of test documentation, implementation of Field Observation Reports (FOBs) and Technical Queries (TQs), and support the commissioning process as required.

Job Role Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize safety and promote a proactive approach to nuclear, radiological, conventional, and environmental safety, acting as a role model for all aspects of safety.
  • Carry out testing activities at all stages of the commissioning process.
  • Contribute to the production of test documentation, ensuring accurate and detailed records.
  • Assist in initiating and implementing Field Observation Reports (FOBs) and Technical Queries (TQs).
  • Perform testing activities for witnessing by third parties.
  • Apply and remove Temporary Commissioning Aids as required.
  • Record supporting data in accordance with test requirements.
  • Utilize completions management systems to manage commissioning activities.
  • Perform commissioning work according to project schedules.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews and collaborate with the engineering team.

Essential Experience & Qualifications:

  • Time served or equivalent in an engineering discipline, preferably electrical.
  • ONC or equivalent qualification is preferred, or a clear route to achieve the qualification.
  • Previous experience in project commissioning.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and the ability to maintain a safety-focused approach.
