Position: Line Design Engineer
Location: Derby (Hybrid working possibility)
Duration: 6 months (Inside IR35) with the potential for extension

Role Overview: As a Line Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the design delivery of Overhead Line Projects, from tendering to project handover. Your responsibilities will include ensuring compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and governance.

Key Accountabilities:

• Deliver the allocated Line Design scope of works to program, budget, and quality.
• Practice Safety and Sustainability by Design in all designs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the Design Engineer appointed by the Design Delivery Manager and the project’s Lead Designer.
• Produce OHL deliverables in coordination with relevant resources.
• Ensure designs comply with standards, legislation, customer requirements, and contract specifications.
• Assist in reviewing tender and contract documentation to establish the OHL scope of works.
• Apply best practices and lessons learned in all tenders and designs.
• Collaborate with designers from other disciplines under coordination of each project’s OHL Lead Designer and Engineering Manager.
• Support the resolution of design challenges.
• Interface with stakeholders for project delivery.
• Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations for Safety and Sustainability by Design.
• Support improvement works within the team and projects.
• Mentor and coach more junior colleagues, supervising their work.
