Civil Works Superintendent

  Civil Works Superintendent   Talacre, North Wales – site based (Requirement to work occasional Saturday mornings)   Outside IR35   3 years work   An experienced Civil Works Superintendent is required to work on an exciting and expanding Energy project based in Talacre, North Wales.   As the Civil Works Superintendent, you will provide a strong background with civil work activities as subcontractor site manager or similar supervising roles for construction sites/projects   The role will require flexibility to work on Saturday mornings when required, this is a project requirement   As Civil Works Superintendent, you will report to the Construction site manager. You will be part of our Liverpool Bay Project (Decommissioning & Carbon Capture and Storage). You will lead 1-2 civil supervisor and collaborators and ensure that subcontractors achieve the working tasks in accordance with the deadlines and QHSE procedures.   How can you support us? Produce and review civil and structural designs, drawings, and calculations. Design temporary works such as lifts, excavations, and temporary supports. Maintain and update refinery civil and structural standards and procedures. Provide discipline input to projects at all stages, including Management of Change (MOC) reviews. Support plant operations, turnarounds, maintenance strategies, and problem investigations (e.g., Root Cause Analysis).     Skills & Experience Required   BEng/MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering. Chartered or working towards chartership (ICE/IStructE preferred). Strong experience in structural and civil design. Proficient with engineering software (Tekla Structural Designer, Tekla Tedds, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000) and AutoCAD. Experience in temporary works design is highly beneficial. Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities. The role involves developing technical specifications, preparing documentation, and performing evaluations for a range of telecom systems. Key Systems: LAN/WAN networks Fibre optic cable systems CCTV systems Access control systems Public Address General Alarm (PAGA) systems PABX and hotline systems Wireless, microwave, and TMR radio systems Perimeter/fence intrusion detection systems Key Responsibilities: Ensure safety, reliability, and quality standards are met across all telecom systems. Produce block diagrams, schematic diagrams, cable schedules, datasheets, interconnection/wiring diagrams, cabinet general arrangement drawings, material take-offs (MTOs), and layout drawings. Strong understanding of international and local electrical codes, health, safety, environmental, and quality standards. Skilled in managing documentation, maintenance records, and reporting processes.
