Job Description Role To provide support to the Area Senior Quantity Surveyor and Senior Discipline QS in managing the main Contract with the Employer and developing and commercially managing subcontracts. To develop an in-depth knowledge of the Contract and subcontract conditions of contract to be able to support the delivery team as required. Under supervision of the Area Senior Quantity Surveyor, day to day tasks are to include: Prepare subcontract / supply contract documentation. Ensure subcontracts are administered in accordance with agreed terms and conditions and authorities, and report any issues arising to the Senior Discipline QS in a timely manner. Support Package Managers and other departments in their roles as required. Essential Experience & Qualifications Preferably nuclear experience NEC3 experience Preferably experience of working for a contractor Quantity surveying qualification . Principal Electrical EngineerWarrington £55k - 65k per year
Overview: As the Principal Electrical Engineer you will be working closely with the Head of EC&I for the technical leadership of the department and to provide technical guidance to Engineers and Designers within the team. The role will involve technical leadership and mentoring of the team including graduates. It will also involve the day to day leadership of an assigned team at project level to profitably and successfully deliver projects as part of a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities: Feasibility, outline and detailed electrical design work including: Functional Design Specifications Electrical Scope/Specification documents Plant/equipment datasheets Load schedules. I/O schedules Power/ICA cable schedules. Electrical calculations Electrical drawings. Single line diagrams Routing and cabling containment designs. General engineering design. Site visits and data collection. Assisting with delivering design and general engineering projects. Assisting with bids and proposal documents as required to support the Head of EC&I or Bid Manager as appropriate. Technical checking of the team’s work. Technical management of electrical vendors and sub-contractors. Provide project team leadership. Ensuring project deliverables comply with appropriate design codes and legislation. The successful candidate will work on a range of diverse projects predominantly in the heavy chemical sector. However, some work is carried out in other industry sectors. Qualifications: Preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in related subject (e.g. electrical engineering although a HNC or HND with appropriate level of experience will be considered. Preferably a Chartered Engineer with IET, or working towards. Good practical knowledge and design experience of LV cabling design for industrial applications. Good practical knowledge and design experience in the specification and testing of MCCs and LV switchboards. Experience of the specification of transformers, standby generators and UPS systems. Experience of Lightning protection design. Experience of reviewing vendor submittals and managing vendors/sub-contractors. Design experience for DSEAR classified areas Proficient in the use of Amtech Pro LV design package. Lighting, Fire Alarm and MV specification & design experience is desirable. Fieldbus technology (Profibus DP and Modbus RTU) design knowledge would advantageous. Functional Safety, Control and instrumentation specification & design experience is desirable. Must possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to be flexible and to be able to multi-task and prioritise when necessary. Overview: As part of the Manchester team, you will be responsible for the successful mechanical engineering delivery on all projects and assignments in terms of quality, safety, time and cost. In addition to the technical delivery, you will provide support to the Head of Department in terms of providing technical guidance to Engineers and Designers within the team. Responsibilities: Ensure overall mechanical engineering and design objectives are achieved, i.e. safety, cost and time outcomes vs. technically sound solutions, risk minimisation and quality. Continuous review and improvement of mechanical engineering processes and project deliverables. Development and issue of design specifications and data sheets. Conduct Technical Bid Analysis from tender returns and technical documentation. Development and issue of construction scope of work packages (installation, destruct, tie-in, insulation, etc.) Provide discipline input into Basis of Design (BoD) reports Liaison with clients, vendors, subcontractors and external consultants. 12 month contract - Inside IR35 Key Responsibilities: Active support of all QHSE policies and procedures. Take responsibility and co-ordinate all construction related activities. Ensure all regular construction coordination and progress meetings are appropriately arranged and attended by required personnel. Direct and supervise Construction Contractors. Manage construction activities to deliver project in line with schedule and key milestones. Where identified participate in the Project MOC (Management of Change) requirements.
