Assistant QHSSE Compliance Manager x4 positions based Multiple Locations, London area x2, Milton Keynes x1 & Birmingham x1.
This role is responsible for assisting the QHSSE Compliance Manager and Head of HSE in ensuring rail infrastructure projects quality, health, safety, security and environmental management.
Ensure standards are met within development and delivery areas, by both project and the Supply Chain. The role is also responsible for role modelling and embedding the 'Safe at heart' culture across development and delivery.
To set the strategic direction, policy and systems for project in relation to Health, Safety, Environmental Management, Security, Quality and Assurance.
To provide assurance to the Executive and Board, lead major strategic projects and offer expert advice to the business.
To develop a 'Safe at heart' culture throughout the supply chain, driving H&S performance beyond current industry best practice.
The directorate is organised around six functional areas:
Quality, Health, Safety and Environment Systems and Controls

To be accountable for role modelling and embedding 'Safe at Heart' culture and ways of working throughout delivery.
To be responsible for supporting risk based Quality, Health, Safety, Security and Environment operational assurance within the development and delivery areas.
To be accountable for assisting the QHSSE Compliance Manager in overseeing and ensuring compliance to centrally defined Safety and Assurance processes and policies across:
Quality
Occupational Health
Safety
Security
Environmental Management
To be responsible for supporting the investigation of Health, Safety, Security and Environment incidents within delivery areas.
To be accountable for assisting in the provision of Safety and Assurance services to support development & delivery teams.
Actively promote and embed Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in all your work and support and comply with all organisational initiatives, policies and procedures on EDI.
Skills Required
Ability to work as part of a team.
Analysis Skills - can identify hidden problems utilising honest analysis and probing techniques.
Problem solving - uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions; probes all relevant sources for answers.
Planning and organising - Able to prioritise and manage own workload. IT proficiency (e.g. Microsoft Office).
Ability to assist with the production and review of technical reports including assurance and investigation reports and interface with staff across all levels of the project.
Knowledge:
All aspects of health and safety, including occupational health, health and safety elements of the Works Information, security policies/procedures/processes and Environment Management policies, procedures and processes.
Knowledge of range of assurance activities, tools, techniques and their application.
Type of experience:
Experience of assisting with the delivery of assurance across a major programme, or a complex organisation, with multiple stakeholders
Experience in being part of a multi-disciplinary Quality or Health & Safety team
Experience of contributing to and review of investigations.
A professional qualification in Health and Safety or able to demonstrate the equivalent experience.
Behavioural competencies:
Development of QHSSE assurance scope within the IPT.
Raise corrective actions and non-compliances.
