Position Summary:


Working in Manufacturing Technology promises to be very exciting and will offer diverse opportunities for growth and development. Reporting to a Process Technologist, together you will deliver strategic projects in the area of supply security, process optimisation and cost containment. You will also have opportunities to collaborate with Technology, Procurement and Manufacturing plants. The successful candidate will be expected to work in cross-functional teams as well as to work independently. Activities will embrace lab work (including synthesis and analysis), learnings and using pervasive technologies, knowledge management, report writing, supporting plant trials, and investigations to support root cause analysis for non-conformances and customer complaints. The role will involve work across two teams within Manufacturing Technology.

Key Outputs

  • Enthusiasm to learn and use new skills related to Fundamental Understanding initiatives
  • Support strategic New Product or Process Development projects including plant trials and process optimisation
  • Provide technical support in troubleshooting activities
  • Collaborate to devise and progress experimentation plans, interpret data, and making recommendations
  • Support evaluation and approval of new raw material and component suppliers


A successful candidate is likely to have:

  • Excellent safety consciousness and behaviour
  • A sound science background with a degree in chemistry, or a related scientific discipline
  • Very strong technical competencies with an aptitude for practical work
  • Good level of organic synthesis experience, and strong background in analytical chemistry techniques would be an advantage
  • The capability to accurately manage test results and technical information, interpret data, making recommendations and maintain comprehensive lab records
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to develop personal relationships with team colleagues
  • Well-developed time management and personal organizational skills
  • A strong background in analytical techniques would be an advantage
