Electrical Calibration Engineer

Our client is looking for an Electrical Metrologist (Calibration Engineer) to join their team. The successful candidate will have a background in a laboratory environment and have experience calibrating equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

Managing all technical and quality elements of the measurement function in line with the Laboratory's existing and future UKAS Accreditation and customer requirements.

Involvement in the recruitment, training, Supervision, discipline and welfare of Laboratory Staff. Through liaison with Business Unit Management, utilisation of available resources, to ensure that equipment calibration status is maintained within pre-defined calibration periods.

Ensuring confidence in the accuracy of company products through an unbroken chain of measurements bearing traceability to National & International Standards.

Operating and monitoring the calibration recall system.

Performing calibration operations on customers electrical measuring equipment and associated apparatus

Drafting and updating Calibration Procedure documents and Laboratory policy documentations.

Maintaining a management system that complies with International Standard ISO/IEC 17025. Continually reviewing and improving systems and methodologies for calibration.

Work closely with department colleagues sharing job knowledge and skills promoting flexibility across job descriptions

Experience:

Experience within Laboratory Environment.

Specific Knowledge:

Background in electrical theory and aptitude for precision measurement work.

Education And Background:

Qualified to HNC level in relevant discipline and relevant experience within Laboratory Environment. Engineering apprenticeship, or equivalent work experience. Assessment by UKAS as Technical & Quality Manager for the Laboratory.
