Web Developer

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Monitoring and Diagnostics team, based in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. Our mission is to develop state of the art monitoring technologies, generally deployed in an Electrical Substation, allowing a customer to understand and optimize the operating condition of their Electrical Power Transformers, circuit breakers and other substation assets.

You will work among a talented and motivated R&D team, applying technologies such as On-line Dissolved Gas Measurement (DGA), Bushing Measurement (Tan Delta and Capacitance), Partial Discharge (PD) detection (UHF & Electrical) and Fast Transient measurement.

The scope of the team is unique, covering fundamental research on new measurement technologies, through to advanced Cloud based Industrial Internet concepts and deployment.

We already have a talented team of Software, Firmware and Web Developers on one of our other Engineering sites. This opportunity is to develop additional talent at the site where the hardware and sensor design occurs.

Essential Responsibilities

Design and implement web centric code from requirements to production release, through to post release support ?Design, develop, code, test and debug web code across a range of platforms using HTML 5, JavaScript (Angular), CSS, LUA ?Investigate new technologies / methodologies to improve customer experience ?Co-ordinate with the Product Owner, team members and other stakeholders to meet business objectives ?Collaborate on the planning and scoping of work to be delivered

Qualifications/Requirements
Degree level education in an Engineering or Scientific background or equivalent practical experience ?Minimum of 3 years' experience in web development ?Proven experience using different front end and back-end web services / technologies (w/ portfolio) ?Familiarity with software configuration management tools, defect tracking tools, and peer review ?Demonstrated ability to get complex projects across the line, to budget and quality targets ?Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.

Desired Characteristics
Experience of Linux implementations and environments Experience of modern programming languages (for example C#) .Strong communications skills, with a proven ability to work successfully within a geographically distributed team. Ability to demonstrate delivery to time, quality and budget within an Agile programming environment ?Experience of reading schematics and data sheets to assist in software / hardware debug
