Our Client has a requirement for a Senior Reservoir Engineer, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Kurdistan.

 

Key Accountabilities of the Job:

  • Design, quality control, interpretation and strategies for Reservoir Surveillance data gathering (sampling, metering, logging, etc.).
  • Deliver production logging program designs and interpretations.
  • Analyze reservoir and wells' performance using analytical and numerical tools.
  • Identify well intervention/ workover candidates for production enhancements.
  • Propose, and develop Intervention concepts to enhance wells production.
  • Design and execute quality assurance/quality control and perform post-job analysis for wells interventions.
  • Propose, develop and deliver additional fit-for-purpose well and reservoir monitoring and management analysis approaches and tools.
  • Reservoir engineering input to drilling, testing and WO programs.
  • Manage Company’s wells and reservoir-related databases.
  • Short and medium-term reservoir and well potential forecasting; providing input into relevant production forecasting.
  • Reporting and presentation to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in the ongoing training and development of assigned local staff and other new graduate staff. Includes assessing employees' training and development needs, preparing structured development/familiarization programs, monitoring and reporting on progress and counselling employees, as required.

 

Essential Skills / Experience / Qualifications:

  • Ideally MSc Petroleum Engineering or, as a minimum BS degree in Petroleum Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 15+ years of experience in the E&P industry in the area of Petroleum and Reservoir Engineering. Extensive experience with an operator
  • Practical experience in managing the subsurface aspects of mature oil fields
  • Thorough knowledge of reservoir engineering fundamentals and experience in reservoir engineering aspects of fractured carbonate systems
  • Sound understanding of data acquisition practices, operational challenges, opportunities, and limitations thereof
  • Ideally, experience with gas injection schemes in fractured carbonate reservoirs
  • Good understanding of static and dynamic reservoir characterization of fractured carbonates
  • Knowledge and understanding of other subsurface disciplines
  • Good understanding of artificial intelligence, machine learning applications in reservoir management and automated well/ reservoir monitoring tools/ tool developments
