Our Client has a requirement for a Quantity Surveyor, who will be required to work on a contract basis in Location.

 

Job Purpose:

The Joint Venture project will safely design and deliver a Plant and the works in accordance with the requirements of the contract to enable the conditioning of wastes from the various donor plants, carried out in line with the Employer’s needs and to the satisfaction of stakeholders in the Project.

 

Key Accountabilities of the Job:

  • Prepare Subcontract/ Supply contract information for ITT, liaising with Procurement.
  • Provide Commercial input into the procurement strategy and Evaluation reports.
  • Ensure subcontracts are administered in accordance with agreed terms and conditions and authorities and report any issues arising to the Senior Discipline QS in a timely manner.
  • Support Package Managers and other departments in their roles as required.
  • Attend and input into meetings (Procurement/ Progress/ POTW etc. etc.), providing Commercial advice where required.
  • Ensure variations to sub/supply contracts have Budget and PO approval. Raise necessary CE’s under the main contract/ CAS’s/ Scope Transfer forms and Exec Summary Reports as required.
  • Liaise with Estimating Manager on CE evaluation as appropriate and advise control accounts
  • Ensure that any relevant issues affecting Subcontract packages are also appropriately dealt with under the requirements of the main contract.
  • Manage Engineering Order accounts, reviewing productivity and forecasting with Construction.
  • Undertake remeasures off drawings and/ or on-site as required to establish accurate forecasting and to report on productivity.
  • Ensure focus on the Main Contract schedule and ensure options to achieve or better programme dates are explored and implemented where possible.
  • Approve SC quotations in CEMAR (within authority)
  • Ensure SC payment certificates are raised for entitlement only and by the due date.
  • Support Control Account Manager (CAM) forecasts to completion.
  • Ensure that deliverables due under each sub/supply contract are tracked and reported to Package Managers.
  • Manage CEMAR for supply chain contracts, including set-up if applicable, issuing EWNs/ CEs/ GCs etc.
  • Provide Commercial input into the SC Programme acceptance procedure.
  • Motivate, support and assist with the development of Assistant/ Trainee QS’s.
  • Communicate with all relevant parties to ensure consistency of understanding and approach.
  • Review of direct costs incurred, liabilities, forecasting and cost management.
  • Other commercial and contractual activities as determined from time to time by Senior Discipline QS.

 

Essential Skills / Experience / Qualifications:

  • Preferably experience working with NEC3.
  • Preferably experience of working for a contractor
  • Quantity surveying qualification.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Preferable 3 years post qualification experience
