Senior Piping Designer (PDMS)

Our Client has a requirement for a Senior Piping Designer (PDMS), who will be required to work on a 12 month contract basis in Warrington.

 

Job Purpose:

The project will safely design and deliver a Plant and the works in accordance with the requirements of the contract to enable the conditioning of wastes from the various donor plants, carried out in line with the Employer’s needs and to the satisfaction of stakeholders in the Project.

 

Key Accountabilities of the Job:

Senior PDMS Piping Designer supporting the Lead Piping Engineer.

  • Responsible for the design of process pipework within the PDMS model which includes, but is not limited to, routing, supporting, spooling and clash checking.
  • Production and checking of 2D deliverables using PDMS draft, which will include General Arrangements, Fabrication Isometrics and Pipe Supports.
  • Liaison with other members of the team and the client’s representatives will also be required along with carrying out site visits when necessary.
  • All designs and deliverables produced must be to the required technical quality, with minimum input from engineering personnel as required, and be completed within budget and schedule.

 

Essential Skills / Experience / Qualifications:

  • Minimum ONC/HNC Mechanical Engineering.
  • Working within a Joint Venture environment.
  • Nuclear experience in a Senior PDMS Piping Designer role.
  • Minimum 10 years experience in piping design using PDMS Design and Draft functions.
  • Proficient in the comprehension and application of International Codes, particularly Piped Systems to ASME B31.3.
  • Ability to demonstrate strong competence in the delivery of detailed design under own supervision reporting to the Lead Piping Engineer.
  • Working knowledge of SL standards and procedures.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office software.
  • Ability to utilise NavisWorks review packages.
  • Working knowledge of PDMS Design and Draft.
  • Autodesk Vault Basis.
  • Familiar with SharePoint.
