Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

1.Take the lead in the development and maintenance of standards for safety and security, and assist in the development or implementation arrangements.

2.Take the lead in the development and maintenance of emergency arrangements

3.Provide technical advice and expertise, and act as an intelligent customer in radiation protection and emergency preparedness.
4.Specify, manage and co-ordinate support from within the organization and other external entities, as required.
5.Support the development and implementation of plans to build the human and technical capability of the center.
7.Provide mentoring support to the staff.
8.Work effectively and maintain strong relationship with internal and external stakeholders.

Knowledge:

Working knowledge of international standards in radiation protection and best operational practices and implementation arrangements.
Working knowledge of standards for emergency preparedness and implementation arrangements
Working knowledge of licensing, and nuclear safety and environmental cases.
Working knowledge of standards for the security of radioactive sources and material.
Working knowledge of international regulations for the transport of radioactive material.

Skills/Abilities:

Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
Ability to lead scientific and technical meetings and organize conferences, workshops, training events, etc.
Ability to interact and to build and maintain collaborative partnerships across organizational boundaries and ability to interact effectively with internal and external counterparts in a multicultural environment with respect and sensitivity for diversity.

Certification and Experience:

Radiation protection professional experienced in developing and/or managing radiation protection programs in radioactive waste or nuclear facilities
Holder of a recognized certificate or member of a recognized society in radiation protection.
Experienced emergency preparedness specialist or emergency responder
Experience in the development and/or maintenance of a nuclear safety and environmental cases.
Experience in nuclear licensing, permits and consents.
Experience in the transport of radioactive material.
Experience in writing technical specifications for the procurement services related to radioactive waste management.
Experience in the role of intelligent customer.

Experience in radiation protection: 15 years Experience in safety cases and licensing: 10
