There is a requirement for a Signalling Manager (Track Renewal) to come onto a Rail project in North-West London on a contract-basis (outside IR35) for up to 6-months.
Role Brief:
- Assist in tendering projects by considering the construction elements of bids
- Set scope for and review sub-contract installation packages of works
- Plan project activities to suit available access and project deliverables
- Deliver projects efficiently in accordance with the programme to time, quality and resource plan
- Ensure that teams are provided with the correct tools, plant and equipment for a project
- Carry out site audits and demonstrate safety leadership by example
- Effectively manage project resources including people, time, plant, materials, subcontractors
- Motivate staff in the team including any sub-contractors
- Build a successful relationship with the project clients
- Assist with the IDC Process by preparing the inputs
- Work towards gaining Engineering Manager Installation IRSE Licence (7.8.110B) and maintain an IRSE logbook
- Understanding of the standards framework
- Ensure a site diary is kept and site work records are returned to the Construction Manager
- Ensure all equipment used has current calibration certification
- Delivery of the project to forecasted costs, regular reporting and detailed cost control measures put in place
Skills & Experience Required:
* Report writing
* Basic computer operating skills with knowledge of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
* Ability to drive
* Good communication and presentation skills
* Commercial awareness
* Knowledge of Hazpak documents (Desirable)
* Basic planning with knowledge of Microsoft Project and Primavera (Desirable)
Qualifications
* IRSE Engineering Manager Installation licence (7.8.110B)
* COSS or SWL
* Valid PTS with AC/DC
* Emergency first aid
* Manual handling
* Fire safety
* COSHH Appreciation
* Small tools
* Working in confined spaces
* Manual handling assessor (Desirable)
* Intermediate Signalling Technology (IST) (Desirable)
* Corporate membership of the IRSE (MIRSE) (Desirable)
* SMTH (Desirable)
* NVQ level 4 (Desirable)
Experience
* Knowledge of railway signalling systems and sub-systems
* Knowledge of appropriate industry standards relating to installation work
* Knowledge of quality, health, safety and environmental Regulations and standards
* Knowledge of Work Package Plans and Task Briefing Sheets
* Awareness of principles of risk assessment (Desirable)
* Awareness of internal auditing (Desirable)
* Awareness of design and testing processes (Desirable)
