Senior Control Systems Consulting Engineer

Overview:
A leading engineering consultancy is seeking a Senior Control Systems Consulting Engineer to join their growing UK Power team. This role involves delivering technically challenging projects across power generation, energy conversion, and transmission/distribution control systems, with opportunities across the UK and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, manage, and contribute to projects involving control systems for power generation, energy conversion, and transmission/distribution networks.

  • Develop conceptual design studies, cost-benefit analyses, and technical specifications.

  • Act as Owner’s Engineer and provide technical advisory/due diligence support.

  • Support tendering, bids, and proposals with technical input.

  • Participate in FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities on site.

  • Mentor and support junior engineers.

  • Adapt to deliver additional technical capabilities as required.

Skills & Experience:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (BSc/BEng minimum).

  • Broad understanding of the UK electricity system and stakeholders.

  • Experience in design, specification, and delivery of control systems for power networks.

  • Experience with battery storage systems is desirable.

  • Experience in FAT, SAT, or commissioning advantageous.

  • Consulting experience is desirable.

  • Ability to lead or coordinate project delivery.
